about adrienne
Adrienne Gunn is a writer and podcaster obsessed with pop culture. Her first novel, I Love You, Charlie Bennett, follows a desperate thirtysomething as she makes a mess chasing love on reality TV. Adrienne’s newsletter, Where the F*ck’s My Happy Ending?!, features everything from the perils of swiping while middle-aged to run-ins with Channing Tatum and twelve-step skincare routines. Her podcast, Don’t Ruin This For Me, revisits the 80s and 90s pop culture that set her on a path to total adult disappointment, because—oops!—real life is nothing like a John Hughes film. A long-time Chicagoan, Adrienne’s been a columnist and on-screen personality for Chicago Magazine, appeared as a storyteller and comedian at major venues including Steppenwolf Theater and the Laugh Factory, and her one-woman show Mother of the Year! debuted and returned to sold out Windy City audiences. She received her MFA in creative writing from the University of Oregon and is represented by Marcy Posner at Folio Literary Management.
